I SEE A TOWER
And on the tower there is a dirty teddy bear
And a bunch of dead flowers,
One day shiny and colourful, pure, simple.
I read Bukowski.
I can't help thinking I could drink
More beer,
But it makes me fat.
I hate being fat, I feel old
And lose my sexual appetite.
I find myself writing in English.
It doesn't matter, as words are just words,
Sequences of thought and meaning,
Or not.
The ink beautifully carves
The rough cream paper
And I wonder what I am doing
Trying to be a poet.
