RAIN

When the rain is falling
I pause and remember you.
Moist eyes match newly wet branches
outside my window.
Glistening silver rain drops
dance merrily down the glass,
reminding me of other rainy nights.
A flickering fire,
shadows on hidden places,
Stolen moments.
The silent eagerness of your touch,
A slow smile,
Lying in sweet exhaustion
in your arms
Treasured moments
now part of aged memories,
bringing tears and longing
and thoughts of you.
