SNOW

The snow looks bright this Christmas Day,
It came last night from far away.
It danced in the air, then fell in the lane,
It covered the house-tops, then danced again.
When all the World was fast asleep,
The snowflakes fell so white and deep.
What pretty shapes came tumbling down,
They quickly covered all the town.

We do not know who sent the snow,
From Winter skies above.
It fell like Angel wings in flight,
With peace and gentle love.
As darkness came to every town,
The snow was sent to play.
It settled late on Christmas Eve,
And there did fondly stay.

The snow looks white this Christmas Day,
It fell last night down every street
And in the garden prints are found,
Left by the postman's frozen feet.
I'll make a snowman large and round
Beneath a dear old Christmas tree
And when the children come from school,
He'll smile for you and smile for me.

The snow looks bright this Christmas Day,
It came last night from far away.
It danced in the air, then fell in the park
And settled as the day grew dark.
Now all the World has come to see,
The snowflakes on our Christmas Tree.
What pretty shapes have tumbled down,
They came last night without a sound.
